Irish Wheelchair Association is a national voluntary organisation advocating for social, educational and economic integration of people with physical disability into mainstream society. IWA, founded in 1960 by five people who used wheelchairs, now has 14,000 members and is a major national provider of services through its network of regional centres. Services include: Personal Assistant and Care Attendant Services, Driving Assessment and Tuition, Peer Counselling, Information, Holiday breaks, Wheelchair Sales, Loan and Repair, Sports, Day Resource Centre Programmes, Lobbying and Access.
