The Finance Committee of the NFPBA was set up as a vital tool in support of the Associations' objectives. By sharing information we have been able to define the overall cost of the services provided by our nine member organisations, quantify the accumulated deficits built up over the years, calculate the annual core under-funding of our budgets and evaluate the manpower deficiencies in our current service provision.
The information gathered has assisted the Association in its negotiations with the Department of Health and Children and already the issue of core under-funding is being addressed. We have also participated in the Harmon / Bruton Review of manpower needs. Sharing information on more detailed expenditure headings will further strengthen the bonds between our members and ensure that we will provide an equitable, cost effective and efficient service to our clients into the future.
